ASSESSMENT OF STUDENTS’ LINGUISTIC COMPETENCE IN ANAMBRA STATE

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Assessment of Linguistic Competence as a Panacea for ineffective Teaching and Learning in Anambra State. Three research questions were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. Simple random sampling technique was used to select four thousand and ten (4005) respondents. The instrument for data collection was a well-structured questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed using statistical mean. It was discovered that students’ linguistic competence is a sure possible solution to ineffective teaching and learning.
