Music Teachers’ Professional Competence and Compliance With Ethical Codes
Abstract
Professional competence is the capability to perform the duties ofone’s profession generally or to perform a particular professionaltask, with the skill of acceptable quality. It is the constant use ofknowledge, skills, reasoning, and values, in our work schedule forthe benefit of individuals and society. This type of competence buildson a foundation of basic skills, knowledge, and moral development(IAHPC, 2022). The skills are usually developed through trainingand practice, while the knowledge is the ability to apply information,facts, and procedures in different situations. This competence whichis linked to the workplace is observable, measurable, andtransferable.
