Abstract

Translation denotes communication, not just inter linguistic but also inter cultural. In the translation process, virtual conflicts emanate between language and culture in which the the translation is done. The translator tries to get his message across without changing the original idea in the source text. This write up is dealing with the problem associated with translated text. To drive this study, the work is divided into four parts: cultural references problems, cultyral problems in literary translation, difficulties in literary translation and the issues of fidelity in translation. The principal objective is to prouve that translation is not only a linguistic operation but that it is mingled in social and cultural interrelations, both in the source language and the translating language. Consequently, cultural parameters play a great role in translation in general and in literary translation in particular.
