Defis Culturels Dans La Traduction Litteraire: Analyse De L’hibiscus Pourpre

Abstract

Translation projects intercultural and interlinguistic communication and raises some issues of fidelity which forms the nexus of this research work focusing on the translation of Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Adichie into French by Mona de Pracontal wioth the title L’Hibiscus pourpre. The work is divided into three parts: the summary of L’Hibiscus pourpre, definition of translation and culture and cultural challenges in literary translation, using L’Hibiscus pourpre as a case study. The research tries to focus deeply on the obstacles challenging intercultural translation as it concerns Adichie?s novel as well points to the merits and demerits of this translation by Pracontal.
