ANALYSE DE L’APPLICATION DE PALIERS DE MANIEMENT DU LANGAGE PAR JEAN DELISLE DANS LA TRADUCTION DE LES CHEMINS DE DÉSIR DE RICHARD CLAIRE

Abstract

Notre étude porte sur la traduction en anglais du roman Les chemins du désir de Claire Richard, un roman a base culturelle européenne. La traduction littéraire est un travail compliqué à cause de la nature largement connotative du langage littéraire et, parfois la nature de la culture du texte original comportant des expressions souvent dites intraduisibles. C’est pour cette raison que nous avons construit des questions de recherche pour guider notre travail. Les réponses à ces questions ont constitué nos données dont l’analyse nous a amenés aux conclusions susceptibles d’avancer la connaissance dans la traductologie. Pour pouvoir mener notre travail à terme, nous avons appliqué la théorie de l’interprétative dans les paliers de maniement du langage de Delisle. Nos données produites à l’aide d’oeuvre de Delisle ont été discutée autour de nos questions de recherche pour arriver à notre conclusion et proposer des suggestions.

Our study dwells on the translation into English of the novel Les chemins du désir by Claire Richard, an European cultural novel written in French. Literary translation is a complicated work because of its connotative nature in the use of literary language and sometimes because of the nature of the culture of the original text, including apparent cases of untranslatability. It is for this reason that we have formed research questions that helped us organize our work. The answers to these questions constituted our data, the analysis of which led us to conclusions likely to improve knowledge in traductology. To be able to do this work, we had to be led by the interpretative theory through the paliers de maniement du langage written by Delisle. Data collected through the application of works of Delisle were discussed around the research questions to be able to arrive at conclusions and propose suggestions.
