In modern Chinese grammar, Resultative complement is a core aspect of verb complement structure. Over the past 50 years, scholars have described and studied various aspects of verb complement, such as its origin, syntactic structure etc. The main objective of this work is to do an empirical analysis of the temporal and semantic relation existing between verbs and its complements in a resultative. We employed the use of different criteria to classify resultatives，we looked mainly at the temporal features and the semantic orientation of verb complements.
