Abstract


The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is the apex bank of Nigeria. Its core mandate us to serve as banker of the last resort, monetary policy maker and chief financial adviser of the Federal Government of Nigeria. CBN should ensure that Nigeria is flowing in a stable economy environment. It is not the duty of the CBN to be engaging in reckless Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. While it is not out of place to do that once-in-a while, but it should be done with discretion. This article adviced that CBN Governors should get within the limitations of Public Procure Act, 2007 and as advised by the committee of Governors (COG).
